Conditions d'Admissibilité
Can you join the 2nd year of Acting if you have attended other schools before?
This is a question we get asked very often. Direct access to the 2nd year is only possible if you have trained in the method at other institutions specifically dedicated to it— and in France, there are very few!
However, you can join a 1st-year foundational program with a year-long commitment. At the end of the first trimester, an evaluation will be conducted with the different coaches in your training to assess whether you have the necessary skills to potentially access 2nd-year classes in addition to your program or as a replacement for some courses.
This decision remains personalized, depending on your background, your work, and your understanding and execution of the method.
A very good level of English is required, as the entire course is conducted in English.
Modalités et date d'inscription
Final registration for the workshops takes place in 5 steps:
An information meeting, either by phone or in person, with a member of the Method Acting Center team. This aims to explain how our structure works and to define a course program.
If the interview and/or audition (for 3rd-year Composition actors) is successful, a one-hour registration meeting will be scheduled to set up the training contract, the internal regulations, and the annual payment.
Enrollment in weekly classes requires a full academic year commitment, from the last week of September to June 30th (i.e., 10 academic months). The first week of classes is an integration week. All actors enrolled in a year-long program begin their training with this intensive introductory week on the Stanislavski and Actors Studio methods.
It is possible to enroll during the year, depending on availability. In this case, the training will follow a staggered entry format, for example, from January to December.

Objectif pédagogique
Programme / Contenu de la Formation :
- Exploration 1 : explore your imagination, your body, your emotions, etc.
Exploration 1 is the basic acting training: through a series of group exercises, you’ll learn how to unleash your emotions, expand your imagination, overcome stage fright, sharpen your focus and heighten your senses… in short, all the skills you need to create compelling performances.
- Backstory : live authentically fictionnal circumstances
In Backstory, you’ll tackle head-on scenes in pairs: by building a fictional relationship with your scene partner, you’ll learn how to create an improvisation that will eventually become a precise written scene… while still keeping the natural feel of the initial improvisation! The last term is dedicated to working directly on scenes from plays or screenplays.
- Scenes 1 : sculpting silence with your body language and your emotions
Scenes 1 is an in-depth workshop on subtext: through a series of fictional situations, you’ll learn how to create a scene where you are entirely on your own, without text or miming… and yet, the scene must be full of life! This is how you’ll grasp the importance and superiority of body language and emotions over text.
NB : You need to have a minimum understanding of french for this class : since it does not include text nor improvisations, you’ll be grouped with the french actors and it will be coached in french. However, your coach will be bilingual and will be able to resolve in English any incomprehension you may have.
There is also a work on :
– Character development and acting techniques to develop capacities to be emotionnally honest
– Exploration and preparation exercises as well as Improv
– And ‘freeing the voice’ work for actors who are working in a second language
